Fat Fridays #1: Frank Ocean

As the great Biggie Smalls once said:
“And if you don’t know now you know, n*gga”

There should be no introductions necessary for Frank Ocean. With vocals that make women quake and tunes perfect for a wake-n-bake; it should be clear why the New Orleans born crooner is spearheading our first ever Fat Fridays. Those of you who have listened to his material as of late would know that Mr Ocean doesn’t need much to make an impact, being his latest songs haven’t been longer than 2 minutes.

So without further a due, on this Fat Friday we bring to you a palatable selection of Frank Ocean delicacies; a snack for the road in 'Whip Appeal', a re-blended treat in 'White' & a melting moment in 'Voodoo' itself. Remember, don’t think just eat.

Whip Appeal

White (MeLo-X Gentrification Mix)

Voodoo

Couldn't help myself but had to add a little supplementary treat.
"She was hip hop, she was hip hop, she let me get it if I pull out when the kid drop."
The flow, the lyrics, the delivery; all are what makes up a recipe for success. It's also pretty much all I have to say about little known Seattle rapper Sol. Go listen.

Last but not least, a little something I wanted to share. This was filmed last week at SXSW where one of the sets was taken over by Kanye & Big Sean. Not a big deal at all.

Twirly Thursdays #1: Love Is Not Enough

Alright so the week is just about clearing up. It's Twirly Thursday for Trance, which means its pretty much the weekend. I've already forgotten about my test next week so let's get this party started!

I don't know what everyone else thinks but I was personally disappointed with Above & Beyond's latest Album effort Group Therapy. It was lacklustre in every department besides the vocals, Zoe Johnston is amazing and Richard Bedford I daresay is probably the best male vocalist in the business, and you can't just run on Sun & Moon alone. When it was released, I kept comparing it to Tri-State and Sirens Of The Sea, and it was just disappointing...

Yet again and again they prove me wrong, earlier this week this monster was released, alongside club mixes and extended mixes. I can't even choose between what's better, Maor Levi's or their Club Mix
This is the kind of stuff that makes me itch for them to release a remix album already! They generally take time with their remix albums, the first one taking 2 years and the second one taking about a year. It's been almost a year now and I can just imagine a few of the gems that might be included:

That last one hasn't even been released yet, ever since premiering at TATW 400 (Above & Beyond's Set). Been waiting a good 4 months. All these are signs of an EPIC remix album to come ;) So in the most likely far but hopefully near future. Watch out for Group Therapy Remixes!

Extras!
Debuting at ASOT 550 (Kiev) was Markus Schulz' brand new epic big room hit with Denis Shepherd, this one is guaranteed to melt your brain:

And just a special treat for you guys thanks to Gareth Emery at ASOT 500 LA/Miami. ENJOY!

Chewy Tuesdays #1

Chup Chup! Welcome to Chewy Tuesdays, my name is Ringo and I'm here to make your first time amazing. Every Tuesday this section will be comprised of various Dubstep, Drum and Bass & Electro munchables, new & old. Basically, you'll find your favourite chocolate face-melting bass drops here to help make the most of your humdrum lifestyle. Anyway's let's get right into the goodies.
First to be unwrapped is A-Trak, the ex-personal DJ of Mr West himself. I have no words for this one. Don't think just eat; simply delish.Whether old or new, Music is Music. As such, this was sitting in my library the other day and I just happened to come across it. And aren't I glad I did! I have to admit, this delectable is probably more Trance... However wait till the 3:10 mark for the surprise and you'll understand why it deserves a place here!
Ahoy there munchers, Petey here with my first post so be nice! :)
First up I’ve got The Chaotic Good’s heavy remix of Discord. Easily my top snack from Midnight Conspiracy’s Discord EP, especially with that catchy synth before the heavy drop! G-g-g-g-g-gangster. !Inevitably, I had to include in my first blog one of my favourite tracks with young gun 19 yo Porter Robinson’s Vandalism. This tasty track is definitely one of the next club classics with its catchy vocals and even catchier electric drops. Even Knife Party let this kid finish on their own stage at Future Music Festival this year. Nuff said.

WKND

Cool.
Fresh off Ferry's album is a beautiful vocal track featuring Betsie Larkin. Can't wait for the epic remixes to come :)
And a special one that I've been meaning to get but held off until now:
